Applications of Ayurveda

  1. To maintain Health of healthy person – by following daily regimen and by following seasonal regimen and knowing the food contents their nature and intake according to needs of body. The first aim of Ayurveda is fulfilled if Health of Healthy person is maintained.
  2. Preventive – (Sanskrit shlok)

In short treatment is to avoid the etiology or causative factors which are as follows:-

  • Pragayapradh
  • Asatmayaindryarth Samyog
  • Parinama

As avoiding all these and be attentive every time towards self, self behavior, food, season and needs of body.

Then in preventive Panchkarma a Shodana (cleansing) procedure which if undergone single time in life and then using Rasayan is much beneficial for whole life.

Panchkarma can be done season wise, demand of body or to eliminate specific ailment.

Seasonal Panchkarma – as preventive procedure –

According to season a particular Doshas is vitiated and so if only selective procedures are applied for the person then chances of getting disease/ sickness or coming under wrath of seasonal diseases and infections becomes very meager.

  1. Rainy Season – Vata is vitiated which is main Dosha of body to cause disturbance. Vata get accumulated in summer season because of particular properties of Dosha and season. Medicated enema (vastu) is main treatment for Vata Dosha. When after Snehan (oleation) and Swedana (fomentation) Vasti is performed. The vitiated Vata comes into balanced state and hence, saving from various disorders /diseases.
  2. Sharad Ritu – this season comes when rains are over and sun shine to its fullest. The environment is moist and humid with hot conditions. Pitta Dosha is vitiated causing problems like hyperacidity, indigestion and sour taste, ulcer is aggravated in this season.

Purgation helps to avoid / or balancing vitiated Pitta Dosha and hence, saves from all the above diseases.

  1. Basant – in February to March end kapha is aggravated. This Kapha is deposited in winter season and when sun takes its strength in these months Kapha is vitiated.

Induced vomiting with medicine after using oleation and Fomentation is best to treat kapha. These Panchkarma procedures when done appropriately and timely helps to avoid disease and leading healthy life.
