Project PRAYAS

(Online Survey and Web search of Yoga, Yoga Teachers, Institutions and Centers

The purpose of this survey is to gather general information on yoga, yoga teachers, yoga centres and institutions whish are teaching and/or practicing mainly throughout India and also other parts of the world. If you are currently teaching, or have taught yoga in the past 20 years, your answers to these questions will help define the state of "Yoga" in India and the world today.

This survey is part of a Mega project undertaken by the PIYAS team to re-search, collect and collate the database available about Yoga and Yoga teachers. It will be available for completion until May 15, 2008. Because of its limited time on the web, please fill out the survey as soon as possible. Also, please direct other yoga teachers to the website so that they may take the survey.

This survey contains 38 questions about your experiences teaching Yoga as well as questions about your students' experiences, your own practice of yoga and your general demographics.

Experienced Meditators

The Maitri Institute of Laboratory Medicine, Bangalore is investigating the effects of meditation on hormones in healthy female volunteers 28-40 years old. Must be non-smokers and non-asthmatic, with 3 or more years experience with meditation.

Yoga for Depression
Participate in a research study of yoga for depression, led by Medical professional. To be eligible, you must be over 18 years of age, under the care of a physician, and currently taking antidepressant medication. Online Study of Meditation for Newly Diagnosed Cancer Patients

The Curie Centre of Oncology, Bangalore and Maitri Institute of Laboratory Medicine are looking for 20 newly diagnosed cancer patients to volunteer for a meditation study offered on the Internet.

Participants will access mindfulness meditation instructions online
